CHILDREN SERVICES

  • COUNSELING SERVICES
  • KIDS KONNECT

This program provides supportive and expressive groups for elementary and middle school-aged children whose parents have been divorced or separated. The in- school sessions teach skills to increase self-esteem and foster the development of healthy coping skills while providing a safe place for the expression of feelings.

Our goal is to reach as many children as possible in the Central Florida area who have been affected by significant changes in their families. KidsKonnect is facilitated by master's level certified counselors. It is currently held in many schools in Orange, Seminole and Osceola County.

FAMILY SERVICES

These services provide immediate need to families in crisis. When unexpected events provide challenging times for families, Jewish Family Services is available to counsel and help people through this time. We listen. And we provide assistance as funding permits and within specific guidelines.

  • PEARLMAN EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY
Food from our pantry is available to people in need. We primarily help elderly people who are living on a fixed low income, single parent families with low incomes, unemployed adults and their families, homeless people, and people with disabilities. The Pantry is stocked with food that has been donated by caring community businesses, organizations and individuals in various ways.

  • FAMILY ADVOCACY
Volunteers advocate for people who have withdrawn from or never affiliated with the Jewish community because of financial and other circumstances. This confidential service reviews each set of particular circumstances and assists in completing the necessary paperwork for membership in a synagogue or other participating Jewish organization. Participating organizations include Bet Hamidrash, the community Jewish high school program, Hebrew Day School, the Jewish Community Center and area synagogues. Our advocates meet with each organization to help determine what is financially possible and stays in touch with individuals until membership renewal is required.

  • CENTERPIECES FOR TZEDAKAH
Centerpieces for Tzedakah is a program that provides beautifully decorated centerpiece baskets that are available for rent from Jewish Family Services. Gorgeous baskets are filled with a representation of assorted packages of food items. They are attractively wrapped in clear cellophane and decorated. These baskets are ideally sized for centerpieces and will be delivered directly to your party. Coordinated centerpieces, specifically designed for buffet tables and the bimah at your synagogues, are also available for rental.

These unique centerpieces provide a wonderful opportunity for your family to give tzedakah as you celebrate your simcha. The funds raised through the rental of the baskets will be used to purchase food for those in need and keep our Pearlman Pantry fully stocked.

For more information and to reserve your centerpieces, call Terry Nebel at 407-644-7593.
